The Willowcreek Leadership Summit was great…hope to get it piped into Seacoast next year…there was so much good stuff (I’m going to borrow a Hybels illustration this weekend)…my favorite quote was by John Maxwell – "People will not go along with you if they cannot get along with you."…isn’t that the truth! Effective leadership has more to do with relationship than even vision or insight.
I enjoyed the opportunity to share what is happening around here at the Multi-Site forum…met some great people…several of them are "bent" in the same way I am…good news for me, scarry for the rest of the world…I got to experience a John Maxwell headlock…what a genuinely great guy! We were at a small gathering at Hybel’s house…Maxwell "worked the room" in a great way…he makes it a point to add value to everyone he meets…I want to be like him when I grow up.
I am really looking forward to speaking again this weekend at Seacoast! That was part of the goal of the Sabbatical…"to look forward to" alot of things again…it seems to be working.
Another observation from this summer…what an incredibile team I get to be a part of…great to work with people you like! (…"but Greg, I thought you were supposed to like everyone?" …no, I’m supposed to "love" everyone…have you ever not really liked someone but had to "love" them by faith…no?…you haven’t had teenagers yet, have you?)

Greg…
smiles:)you are soooooooo right and there are many that can relate!

Greg,
I know that we as a team are really glad that you are back, but more importantly we are glad that you were able to take time off this summer to refresh and just rest in God's presence. We can't wait to see what God does through the 40 DOC campaign. It is going to be exciting. Thanks for all you do for this church and more importantly for the kingdom of Heaven.
