A great weekend

It was a great weekend…Chris reports on adding a second service in Greenville…a visitor reports on his experience in Savannah…downtown was rocking according to Geoff…Long Point, the Annex, and Summerville joined together to baptize about 100 people at the beach on Isle of Palms.

  1. I liked what Rick Warren said in the devotion this morning about if you don't have the fruit you should examine the root. It reminds me of something I heard once.
    "You can no more give what you ain't got, than you can come back from where you ain't been."
    I've been a Christian for 27 years, and I wonder why I still find myself at times being so unloving. I'm beginning to think it's because I don't spend enough time daydreaming. (Really, I'm not kidding.) Maybe if I thought more about spending ETERNITY in heaven, I'd be more willing to sacrifice a few moments of my time on earth. Or, if I contemplated a treasure in heaven that NEVER ran out, I'd be more eager to part with a few bucks down here.
    I'll bet that this is why Paul says that faith and love "spring from hope" (Col 1:5), and that we should "fix our eyes not on the seen, but on the unseen" (2 Cor 4:18).
