Here’s an email that I sent our staff this week

What a great weekend!

Some of you may remember an all staff meeting earlier this year where I challenged us to make this a breakthrough year in several areas of our lives together. I told you that I thought this was the year we would breakthrough to reach 10,000 people on the weekends and 15,000 people on Easter and Christmas.

This weekend we did it!  So far, the attendance reported was 10,307.

Yea God!!!

Greenville had a great grand opening and several campuses had back to school bring a friend days…the most unique of which may have been Gamecock week at Irmo (go Gamecocks!).

I had several women come up to me at Long Point and say that they brought their husbands for the first time. I also had several men tell me after the service that they had committed to follow Jesus and put him first in their lives.

It’s an honor to serve Seacoast with a team as passionate as you are.

  1. My wife was in Raleigh this weekend…. WOW!!!!! Thought she'd never hush. Not bad for a catholic girl. She told me about how you described your situation with your 15-16 yo daughter and how you handeled that. Loved it. Is there anyway I could get your thoughts, or a CD on what you told that crowd about the way you handled that 1st young man that was not "Qualified" to be with her and then the young man that called you and asked your permission to date her? Your help would greatly be appreciated as I have a 16 yo christain raised son in the same predicament with a young "Lady" ??? God Bless, Thanks, George & Dorene Worrell.. 2. My husband and I serve a church in Greenville SC and the family ministers there. Since the beginning the year, I have had a few occasions to be in Charleston and visit Seacoast. I admit, I came the first time to "steal" ideas, but in the midst of "working" found PRESENCE with Jesus that was unmistakable. The next time I came, I brought my husband and he too, found the preciousness of Jesus' Presence there. We talked to Josh a little and were so excited to hear the same heartbeat from you that the Lord has placed in us. Since then, I attended again in July while on a weekend away to date my Jesus. And then again this weekend, I came with my husband and best friend. We come with an expectancy to hear from Him, knowing our steps our ordained and that He will affirm the path. All 4 times, He has used you to confirm and affirm the personal love affair that I have with Him. I stood in the back Sunday to worship, wanting the freedom to be unrestrained in response to Him and was reminded that with expectancy comes response-that I must respond to HIM, not just expect Him to meet me. So, barefoot and longing for a place of floor to lay down on (no, I didn't do that, I would have been walked on…) I heard Him speak and affirm what has been echoing in my soul. LOVE ME ONLY.
I love Seacoast is growing and planting churches, but I love more that I can expect to meet Jesus when I am there and He changes me. You are making fully devoted followers of Christ. And visiting there is a refuge for my soul, that I might come back and serve this body here-fully and wholly His.
    Cling to Him alone….
