Well, April is here and, despite what some of you might think, there’s more to this month than fuzzy bunnies and guys wearing bright colors they normally wouldn’t be caught dead in (I’m thinking lavender polo shirts here). Everyone knows that one of the biggest holidays of the year is in April. That’s right, April 10 is Golfer’s Day. Or is that not the holiday you were thinking of?
There are actually plenty of silly holidays to choose from each month – I have no idea how (or why) some of these even became holidays. The one Christians have been celebrating for two thousand years is also in April. On Easter, we remember the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, and I can’t think of a better reason to throw a party. It’s easy to celebrate on Easter, but what if you looked for reasons to celebrate every day? That’s what the Twitter Bible Study is about, and here’s how it works:
- Choose a daily reading program. If you don’t have one, there’s a great selection HERE.
- Decide to read a portion of scripture everyday.
- Ask God for one piece of wisdom and insight from what you read.
- Post your insight in 140 characters or less in the comments section of this blog (include the scripture reference).
- Copy your insight and post it on your Twitter or Facebook account so others can benefit from what you are learning.
So during April (which is also Guitar Month, as all former rock stars like me know), let’s prepare our minds and hearts for the coming of Easter by reading and sharing Scripture with one another. I look forward to sharing with you and hearing what you are reading.

No matter how weak or incapable you think you are, you are capable of doing great things to advance the Kingdom on earth. Judg 6-7
