Twitter Bible Study – Daily Wisdom Study – Day 121

Posted May 1, 2011

May is about moms. Each month I try to think of how I can capture its theme into a few paragraphs and some months are harder than others. May is easy! Moms are pretty special people; anyone willing to wipe food off a five-year-old boy’s face using nothing but spit and a  finger deserves more than one day a year, if you ask me.

Mom always thinks she knows what’s best for you, and she’s usually right! Many of the chores and habits she tried to drill into you ended up paying off somewhere down the road, though most of us would prefer not to admit it. Did you know that there are habits God wants you to develop as well? Kindness, generosity, and patience are a few, and reading your Bible is another. If the Bible is God’s way of helping us live better lives, isn’t reading it regularly a habit we should all develop? I think so, and that’s what the Twitter Bible Study is all about. Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose a daily reading program. If you don’t have one, there’s a great selection HERE.
  2. Decide to read a portion of scripture everyday.
  3. Ask God for one piece of wisdom and insight from what you read.
  4. Post your insight in 140 characters or less in the comments section of this blog (include the scripture reference).
  5. Copy your insight and post it on your Twitter or Facebook account so others can benefit from what you are learning.

If you haven’t joined the Twitter Bible Study yet, that’s fine; you can get started today. I would love to hear your thoughts, and besides, it would make your mother proud!
