Summer is here and the time for studying is over…right? If you’re a graduate, you are probably looking forward to a future with “no more papers, no more books, no more teachers’ dirty looks.” Though I’m sure none of you ever got a dirty look from your teacher. School might be out for the summer, but I hope you are still going strong with the Twitter Bible Study!
When you were in school growing up, did you ever sit in class and wonder, “When am I ever going to use this in real life?” Schools and teachers do their best to teach children the things that they may need later in life. And that is sort of what God did with the Bible, except that he knows exactly what we need (ever notice that there isn’t any algebra in the Bible?). He gave us his Word because he knows that we need a hand as we go through life. The Twitter Bible Study is a chance for us to read the Bible through the year and share our thoughts and insights with others. Think of it as one giant study group, prepping for the big exam. Here’s how it works:
- Choose a daily reading program. If you don’t have one, there’s a great selection HERE.
- Decide to read a portion of scripture everyday.
- Ask God for one piece of wisdom and insight from what you read.
- Post your insight in 140 characters or less in the comments section of this blog (include the scripture reference).
- Copy your insight and post it on your Twitter or Facebook account so others can benefit from what you are learning.
None of us will ever graduate from God’s Word. That might seem like bad news, but it’s not! There is always more to learn and more ways to grow. It will probably be harder to stay on track with your daily reading during the summer, but don’t give up; we’re all in this together, gang.

Day 152: Keeping a record of sins (holding a grudge) is like building a wall between you and another person & its nearly impossible to talk openly while the wall is there. God doesn’t keep a record of our sins; when he forgives, he forgives completely, tearing down any wall between us and him. God is holding nothing against you. His lines of communication are completely open. Psalm 130:3-4
