My role at Seacoast

Last night I spoke at the Long Point Campus 1st Wednesday service on my future at Seacoast.  I've talked to quite a few of my friends who are pastors who, quite frankly are struggling with current responsibilities, especially as it relates to speaking 4, 5 and six times on the weekend.

I cannot see a future for me...if things remain the same...but I have an idea...that may help not only people like me but others who do what I do.

I talked about it last night and you can watch it here.

We're behind you, Greg!
Thank you for being our leader!

I am so thankful for your heart! Proud to be a part of a body of believers that longs to see unity and has its sights on what God is doing.

I'm down w/ whatever. I watched the video but was a little confused by what that all meant. The buildup of the message suggested there would be something dramatic but at the end all I heard was possibly an extra Sat service and the rest was pretty vague. Any way you could flesh that out a bit more for us? Not that it affects my attendance but just curious.

This is a winning idea!!! I am blessed and humbled to be a part of such an awesome experience at the Longpoint Campus! Thank you for being such a strong and insightful leader in our community Pastor Gregg!

I use an internet card which is slower that cable so I am unable to watch last nights service which I missed. Could you post the discussion on this web page so I can read what is happening or is about to happen. Thanks

Greg,

I applaud you for being vulnerable with your congregation. As a Pastoral Burnout Survivor myself, what you're addressing is more important than I can put words to.

The issue of Pastoral pace is a huge one. It's my hope that more and more Pastors will hear this message and heed this call. It's meant for any Pastor of ANY size church.

God's best blessings upon you over these next weeks, months AND years!!

I think it's a great idea! Burnout in any profession is an awful thing, but I think even more so in your position. God has blessed Seacoast with a great teaching staff, & I think fewer live services (with replacement by video) would help protect & enhance this valuable resource. And to be frank, :) even when you're live I'm watching the big screen...my eyes aren't quite what they used to be!

You have my full support and prayers.

I do not to see from you or hear any blogs "From the Road". Take time away for you and the family. God WILL be in control. We do love you, need you and support you. See ya when ya return! Go chill.

We really appreciate your upfront and honest approach in everything you do. As I told you in the lobby several weeks ago, I think the video presentation is the best. I would rather see a video of your 1st or 2nd fresh preaching than the 5th or 6th live one. We support this new approach 110%. God Bless- Butch & Bobbie Parker

I second your thoughts of First Wednesday and would like to extrapolate an additional thought to your bag of tricks which could go a long way toward providing a place of worship with zero additional real estate. There is a group of between five and eight of us who sit together every Sunday in church attending the 9:30 service. What if our pews were needed by unchurched persons who decided to attend Seacoast for the first time and the services were SRO? The five to eight of us as a small group could worship viewing a taped service received by email and almost duplicate the experience of a taped service at one of the other venues. It would not be quite the same as a taped session at one of the other venues as outside of the Long Point Campus but it also wouldn't require additional real estate to accomplish, in the long run, the goals of the believers supporting your vision. And that way we wouldn't have to go to Hell or church shopping which is the same as hell. This is like a church time-share which, may be radical, may be tried.

Dear Pastor Greg,

We are so proud to say that we attend Seacoast. I have learned along time ago to never put your pastor or teacher above God. We are so thankful that God is using you as his messenger. We enjoy hearing you speak as well as your group of teaching pastors. You stand up there weekend after weekend sharing with us how we need to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and we truly believe that is what you are doing and we are behind you 100%. Your message last Sunday 9:30am was over the top, you shared with a fresh heart. We loved the end and how you took time to acknowledge those who wanted to except Jesus in their hearts. That is something Seacoast needs to do at each service. We love having you as our Pastor.

Pastor Greg,
Just wanted to say I attend Seacoast Greensboro...I love it there! I appreciate all the hardwork you and the campus pastors and wives do... you are incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seacoast is my home. I visited Irmo with Carrie Thompson and the kids team teachers... still felt like home...

Great message Pastor!!! Thanks for being genuinely weird enough to follow.
