Great tribute to your father-in-law. Thank you for sharing a piece of his life with us.

Scott Kinney

Thank you so much for sharing your father-in-law with us. You painted an incredible picture of him and his family. Our prayers are with you and Debbie and the family.

David Insell

Thanks for sharing that tribute. I believe in eternity that we will meet many amazing people. I look forward to meeting him. Our prayers are with you and your family. I know that a special grace is yours during this time.

MC

Thank you for sharing that. What an amazing man and example. God bless you all during this time.

What a character and an interesting man. Thank you for the tribute of your father-in-law. I sometimes wonder how many interesting characters we let fall away without the retrospective of those who love them, as you and your family have done.
God Bless

What a beautiful tribute to your father-in-law. I know that he is extremely proud of you and your family, as we are. Thanks for sharing. Tina :)

Hmmm! Thanks Greg for making me cry like a baby!

But also...thank you for letting us all read what you said on that eventful day!

The elderly have so much to teach us! If only more people would take the time to sit down and question them and listen....We all could learn so much! With that being said..some of us..if not all of us...should visit a nursing home and spread the love!

I read and felt the love you have for him. And I know that you know that he heard every word you said and was smiling down on you and Debbie and your family!

What a wonderful man! I wish I could have met him.

Oh! But wait! I WILL! One day! I look forward to it!

Greg, enjoyed your story and tribute to your father-in-law. Thank you for taking time to share your love and respect for such a wonderful man. I think we all could learn from you to find the good God has placed in each of our lives through our parents and in-laws' existence. Your story has brought back great memories and lessons learned from mine; thank you and God bless your family at this time.

Greg , what a great tribute . I can relate . I just lost my father a week ago today. You really made me think of some things about my father I would like to remember ,in writing , from his Life .

Joanne Glockner

What an awesome tribute to your father-in-law. He sounds like a real "special" guy!!!!& yes I do look forward to meeting him one day. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.

One lesson that I take from this tribute is the idea of leaving a legacy. I wonder if Debbie's father knew that many of the stories he told and the things that he did would be remembered long after he was gone. It seems like our generation is not much into telling stories - at least not more than once. It makes me realize that I need some good stories to tell my children & grandchildren, and I need to be intentional about passing on my values and creating a legacy.

Thanks Greg. Well done.

Hi Greg,
I am a recovery room nurse at East Cooper Hospital and am waiting for a patient to come out of surgery this late hour. I wanted to share with you an awesome little booklet called "The Power of Forgiveness" by John Arnott, that you may enjoy reading. It talks about our judgements of others and how we need to forgive.

That is a wonderfull tribute to your father in law. I would also please like to know how to get in touch with Greg Surratt, email is fine, or please have him email me. I would like to speak with him about his father. His father was my minister when I was first led to Christ many years ago when he was the minister at Berea Temple in St Louis, Mo. His father is and has been on my mind and heart recently. Please forward this to him.

THANK YOU

Your tribute was a blessing which reminded me to appreciate each day with my own father-in-law (also a great man)who lives at a distance and is a treasured part of my life and the life of his children and grandchildren(54 of them). Your family will be in my prayers every day as this upcoming season will be difficult as you grieve this loss. But what a blessing to know he is home with the Lord.
